Affordable lab automation for Indian laboratories.
Lithmo Technologies Private Limited is developing programmable liquid handling robots for diagnostic, biotech, academic, and research laboratories. The project is beyond the ideation stage: control electronics and motor actuation have been validated, and the integrated liquid-handling prototype is under construction.
Programmable Liquid Handling
Robotic pipetting systems for routine liquid transfer, microplate workflows, assay preparation, and laboratory productivity.
The problem
Many Indian laboratories still depend heavily on manual pipetting for repetitive workflows, while imported automation systems remain expensive and inaccessible for many institutions.
Manual workload
Repetitive pipetting consumes skilled human time and can increase fatigue during routine laboratory workflows.
High import cost
Automated liquid handling systems are often imported and priced beyond the reach of many Indian diagnostic, biotech, and academic labs.
Limited accessibility
Many laboratories need practical automation that is affordable, customizable, and easier to operate without deep programming expertise.
Our solution
Lithmo is building compact, programmable liquid handling robots designed for India-ready laboratory automation.
Prototype under development
Our first product is a prototype-stage liquid handling platform intended to automate routine pipetting workflows across common laboratory formats such as tubes, tip racks, and microplates. The integrated liquid-handling prototype is currently under construction.
Validated control foundation
Lithmo has validated the control electronics and motor actuation needed for robotic movement. The next milestone is integrating the mechanical assembly, pipetting mechanism, and software workflow into a functional MVP.
Intended applications
Lithmo’s platform is intended for routine liquid handling and sample preparation workflows across research, diagnostics, and biotechnology environments.
Diagnostic labs
Sample preparation, reagent transfer, assay setup, and repeatable plate-based workflows.
Biotech labs
Routine pipetting, serial dilution, reagent dispensing, molecular biology preparation, and screening workflows.
Academic research
Affordable automation for university labs, research groups, and early-stage life science facilities.
Why Lithmo?
Lithmo is focused on building practical, India-ready laboratory robotics with affordability, customization, and usability at the center.
India-focused
Designed around the needs, budgets, and operational realities of Indian laboratories.
Programmable
Built for flexible workflows rather than rigid, single-use automation.
Founder-led
Led by a biotechnology researcher with direct understanding of laboratory workflows.
Open to incubation, grants, pilots, and partnerships
Lithmo is currently at the proof-of-concept / prototype-development stage and is working toward a functional liquid-handling MVP. We are open to incubation support, grant-backed product development, pilot discussions, and early laboratory collaborations.
